Public Events Calendar

The ceremony honors all ISU retirees, their spouses or partners, and current faculty or staff who passed away since May 1 of the previous year. Family, friends, and colleagues are invited to join together in person and online to share their remembrances during the program. The program also will be available virtually via Zoom for those unable to attend.

In honor of Memorial Day, join University Museums for a free guided tour of the public works of art that commemorate service members who made the ultimate sacrifice. The tour begins in the Memorial Union’s Gold Star Hall with an introduction by Kathy Svec, retired Memorial Union staff member and founder of the Gold Star Hall Ceremony. Along the way, discover the history of these campus landmarks and the memories they have preserved over time.
