Mike Ford, associate professor of practice in interior design, will retire at the end of spring semester after nine years of service at Iowa State. Students, staff and faculty are invited to his retirement reception from 3:30–5:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, in room 0211 Design.

As part of the renovation of Lake LaVerne, a special fishing event is being held. Volunteers will be on hand to assist people without a lot of experience but who want to try fishing. A limited amount of fishing gear will be available to use. (The Iowa DNR has relaxed its fishing restrictions at the lake through May 15, in anticipation of the lake restoration.)
